SAASA acquires 100% of Globalia Handling Mexico

The airport services company of the Peruvian Andean holding, celebrated an agreement with Globalia Handling to make it its new subsidiary in Mexico.

Friday, August 5, 2022. – Andean Airport Services (SAASA) has reached an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares of the airport services company Globalia Handling Mexico. In this way, SAASA began its process of internationalization of services in Latin America.

"SAASA Mexico will have all the know-how with which we operate in Peru and that has made us an integral part of the supply chain in different sectors. This internationalization process is the result of our differentiated and unique strategy that aims to offer quality service, covering and adapting to the logistical needs of the aviation industry, ensuring effective, agile, and 100% secure operations," said Enrique Vargas, General Manager of SAASA.

SAASA is the only airport operator in Latin America and the fifth in the world to have the triple IATA CEIV certification: CEIV Pharma, CEIV Fresh, and CEIV Live Animals; thus becoming the reliable partner for the air import and export of specialized cargo.

On the other hand, Globalia Handling is a company based in Mexico City that provides ramp and FBO (passenger, dispatch, among others) services at the Benito Juárez International Airport in Mexico City, the Felipe Ángeles International Airport in Zumpango de Ocampo, the Adolfo López Mateos International Airport in Toluca, and the Manuel Crescencio Rejón International Airport in Mérida.

It is important to note that SAASA Mexico will maintain the same services and will also have among its main clients Amerijet, Conviasa, Emirates, Iberia, Qatar Airways, UPS, among others.

SAASA, a Peruvian company part of the Andean group, which has been serving Peruvian foreign trade for 50 years, provides airport services such as ramp services, cargo storage services, passenger services, FBO services, among others.

The international cargo warehouse of SAASA has a strategic location, within the operational perimeter of the Jorge Chávez International Airport and with direct access to it.
